Have a Total Body Lift for a well structured body

In case of a total Houston body lift, the surgeon performs an upper and lower lift to remove excess sagging skin from your body, and tone your body up. However by opting for a total body lift procedure, you undergo not only an upper and lower lift, but your doctor may include some supplemental procedures for better body contour. These additional procedures may be performed with the upper and lower lifts as a single surgery, or at different intervals.

The reason your doctor may divide surgeries and perform them at different intervals is because there is an increase in associated risks when different surgeries are performed at the same time. However there is no particular method to carry out total lifts.

Most plastic surgeons in Houston prefer starting with a lower body lift that follows with a breast lift and complete thigh reconstruction; after which the face, neck and arms are treated. Then again, other surgeons may have their own priorities.

Arm lifts

As a body lift follow up procedure, your surgeon may perform an arm lift or brachioplasty. This is a surgery that involves an incision in the armpit and inside surface of your arm from the armpit to elbow.
After removing any excess fat through liposuction, the excess skin is trimmed away. Then the skin is pulled together and sutured and the incision areas are dressed up. Your doctor may advise you to use a compression garment for a few weeks after the surgery.

Thigh lift

Another popular follow up procedure is the inner thigh lift or medial thighplasty where an incision is made on the thigh and groin junction to remove excess fat and hanging skin from the upper and inner thigh regions. Sometimes, an additional incision extending from the groin region along the inside of the thigh till the knee will also be required.

Once again, excess fat is removed using liposuction while excess skin is trimmed away, pulled and sutured together in place and dressed up. You will also need to wear a compression garment on the incision region for a few weeks after surgery.

As a total body lift entails more surgeries than a body lift, its recovery period may be a bit longer. However the recovery steps and procedures for both surgeries are similar and you are left with a well toned body you will be proud of after a total lift.
