Houston botox injections do not require any downtime, but there are still some things you should do in order to keep your skin healthy and to see the best results. It takes about two weeks to see full results. The most important thing to do is follow the advice of your doctor.

Skin Care Immediately Following Botox

The first thing you need to do is ask your doctor what they advise in regards to moving your facial muscles for the following 12 hours after your Botox treatment. Some may say you can move those muscles while others would prefer you to avoid it. However, it is commonly known not to massage the treated areas for 12 hours after your injections.

Four hours after your Botox injections, do not bend over or lie down. Sit or stand in an upright position so the Botox can settle in its proper areas.

Can You Exercise After Botox?

Yes, but try to avoid it immediately following your injections. Avoid practicing yoga or any other strenuous exercise for the best results.

Skin Care Two Weeks Post-Botox Injections

After 12 hours you will be able to do more of your normal activities but there are still things to follow for two weeks after your Botox injections.

Tanning After Botox

First, limit your sun exposure, which includes tanning beds and sunbathing. In general, sun exposure after Botox should be kept to a minimum.

Limit the amount of alcohol you drink and drink plenty of water to quicken the recovery process. Furthermore, do not use harsh exfoliants for two weeks after your Botox injections. This includes retinoids and alpha-hydroxy acids.

Once the two weeks is up, you will see the full results of your Botox injections. You can keep these results for up to six months. It is more common for results to last 4 months. If you limit alcohol consumption, sun exposure, and smoking, as well as eat healthy you will increase the chances of seeing results for a longer period of time.
