Rosacea is a skin disease where the patient tends to blush or flush easier than others. This blushing and flushing gradually creates permanent redness in the center of their face, and can spread to the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. In some cases, it can cause acne-like breakouts called rosacea acne.

Rosacea can also lead to dry and irritated eyes and visible vessels on the face. Rosacea treatment is decided based on the symptoms of the skin condition. However of the many treatment options available, laser treatment is the best existing option.

Laser treatment effectively helps in treating the tiny blood vessels that can enlarge under the skin. It also acts as a cystic acne laser treatment in Houston and helps improve the acne-like pimples and acne scars that are associated with rosacea. Different lasers are used which include ND:YAG laser, pulsed-dye laser, KTP laser, erbium:YAG laser and CO2.

Most patients usually find significant improvement in their symptoms within one laser session. However your Houston medical spa will suggest various sessions of this rosacea treatment for complete treatment of the condition.

Any pains

Though uncomfortable, laser treatment is never painful. In fact, there is no need of even applying a topical numbing cream to the skin before the procedure starts. The amount of discomfort you experience during the laser rosacea treatment depends on your pain threshold. However rarely does anyone complain about pain during the treatment.

The advantage of using laser to treat your condition is that it requires no downtime. You can return to your normal work when you feel comfortable enough to do so. At the most, there will be some redness and swelling that lasts for an hour or two after the treatment and in rare cases, upto four days too.  Some people also suffer from side effects like purpura or bruising which need four to seven days to subside.

Choose an experienced cosmetic surgeon

It is not advisable to get your laser rosacea treatment treated by any doctor you know. You have to use the services of an adept and professional Houston cosmetic surgeon to do it for you. This is because overtreatment of the area can lead to white circular marks on the face.

Though it is possible to remove this with consequent laser treatments, the better option is to avoid it by having a professional Houston cosmetic surgeon perform the rosacea treatment.
